In his wisdom and awe, Reb Mendel knew full well how the most fiery accusations could sound like gibberish when articulated. One of the Kotzker's disciples said, 'To think a thought is easy but to express it is no mean feat. That is the way we pray: 'Open the mouths of those who put their trust in Thee.' In Kotzk they cultivated the eloquence of silence.
